Self Defense Secrets: How The Kubotan Works

Takayuki Kubota introduced the kubotan as a self defense item for police officers whilst on duty, in the twentieth century. It has been used ever since as one of the police's best self defense tools. For other people looking for self defense secrets, kubotan self defence could be the answer. It is an excellent tool which works well for simple self protection by the ordinary person.

When you compare it with other self defence tools, the kubotan is particularly small, being usually around 5 1/2 inches long, and attaching to your keychain. This means that it is easy both to conceal and to use. It is also lightweight, being made usually of aluminum.

The kubotan works on the principal of stabilization, in the main, because it stabilizes the user's fist. This in turn means that the tool is easier to use, and it gives the fist extra strength which can then be used against the attacker. In addition, the person using the kubotan has added leverage to use on the fists of the attacker.

Another Japanese invented self defence tool is the yawara, and the kubotan is similar to this in the way it is handled, because it too is held in the user's fist. It is different, however, in that one end of the tool sticks out of the fist, and this end is pointed. This makes it easier for the user to apply the tool to other people.

If you are looking for self defense secrets, the kubotan works well because it can work against pressure points. Applied in this way it can be particularly painful for the attacker, however it does not actually injure them or cause long term pain. It simply stops their activity, and it is also safe to use as it is not a blunt instrument.

When used as a self defense secret, the kubotan has some especially useful targets for its application. It is most effective on areas of the body with greater bone density, especially the shins, forearms and knuckles.

As a self defense secret, the kubotan is particularly useful because it is legal everywhere, and no governmental bodies regulate its use. So you can use it without worrying about the legal implications governing your use.

Check out the kubotan when looking through self defense secrets at a self defence store, and you will find that because of its small size the kubotan is quite affordable. You do however need some training in its use.

The kubotan is one of the more unique self defense secrets. Used by the police, it is compact, effective and legal, which means it is an excellent choice for anybody interested in self defense.
